Risk Disclosure Statement
Last updated: June 12, 2026
IMPORTANT: Please read this entire document before using Apex1819 for live trading.
Trading securities involves substantial risk of loss, including the potential loss of your entire investment.
1. AI Trading System Risks
Apex1819 employs artificial intelligence agents to analyze market data, generate trading signals, and execute trades. These AI systems are subject to inherent limitations and risks:
- Model Risk: AI models may generate inaccurate predictions, misclassify market regimes, or fail to identify emerging patterns. Models trained on historical data may not perform well in novel market conditions.
- Overfitting: Past performance, including paper trading results and backtests, may not be indicative of future results. AI models can overfit to historical patterns that do not repeat.
- Black Swan Events: The AI system may not adequately respond to unprecedented events (pandemics, geopolitical crises, flash crashes) that fall outside its training data.
- Cascade Failures: Multiple AI agents operate in sequence. A failure in one agent (e.g., SENTINEL regime detection) can propagate incorrect signals through the entire pipeline.
- Data Quality: AI decisions depend on third-party market data feeds. Erroneous, delayed, or missing data can lead to incorrect trading decisions.
2. Market Risk
The value of securities can decline due to factors including but not limited to:
- Overall market downturns (bear markets, corrections, crashes)
- Individual company adverse events (earnings misses, fraud, bankruptcy)
- Sector-wide declines
- Macroeconomic factors (interest rates, inflation, employment data)
- Geopolitical events (wars, sanctions, trade disputes)
- Regulatory changes affecting specific industries or the market broadly
3. Liquidity Risk
Some securities may have limited trading volume or wide bid-ask spreads, particularly during periods of market stress. This can result in:
- Inability to exit positions at desired prices
- Significant slippage on market orders
- Stop-loss orders executing at prices substantially worse than the stop level
- Partial fills that leave unintended position sizes
4. Technology Risk
As a technology-dependent platform, Apex1819 is subject to:
- System Outages: Server failures, cloud infrastructure issues, or deployment errors may prevent the system from monitoring positions or executing trades.
- Connectivity Issues: Network failures between Apex1819 and your brokerage can prevent order execution or status updates.
- Software Bugs: Despite testing, software defects can cause unintended trading behavior including incorrect order sizes, wrong direction trades, or failure to exit losing positions.
- Brokerage API Changes: Changes to your broker's API can temporarily disrupt service.
- Cybersecurity: While we implement industry-standard security, no system is immune to cyber attacks.
5. Historical Performance Disclaimer
PAST PERFORMANCE IS NOT INDICATIVE OF FUTURE RESULTS.
Any performance metrics shown on the platform — including paper trading returns, backtested results, win rates, Sharpe ratios, and benchmark comparisons — are historical in nature and do not guarantee future performance. Market conditions change, and strategies that performed well historically may produce losses in the future.
Paper trading results in particular may not accurately reflect live trading performance due to differences in execution, slippage, market impact, and psychological factors.
6. Insurance & Protection
Your trading account and the signals provided by Apex1819 are:
- NOT insured by Apex1819 against any losses
- NOT insured by the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation)
- SIPC coverage may apply through your broker for custodied assets (up to $500,000), but SIPC does not protect against market losses or bad investment decisions
- NOT guaranteed by any government agency or private insurance
7. Safeguards Provided
While Apex1819 cannot eliminate risk, the platform includes several risk management safeguards:
- GUARDIAN Agent: Compliance checks on every signal (PDT, concentration, drawdown limits)
- Daily Loss Halt: Automatic trading halt when daily losses exceed your configured threshold
- Max Drawdown Halt: Automatic halt for cumulative drawdown protection
- Emergency Halt: Immediate manual halt available at all times to close all positions
- Bracket Orders: Every entry includes a stop-loss and target for defined risk
These safeguards reduce but do not eliminate risk. Stop-loss orders are not guaranteed to execute at the specified price, particularly during market gaps or halts.
