Existing positions are grandfathered — they keep their original bracket orders. A position that was opened during a favorable market phase with a specific stop-loss level doesn't suddenly get its stop moved. Instead, the position is monitored under the new conditions' rules, which may mean more frequent check-ins or heightened alerting, but no change to the actual order parameters.

This is deliberate. Jerking existing positions around on every regime change would create unnecessary transaction costs and could trigger stops prematurely. The transition happens organically: old positions exit via their natural bracket orders (stop or target), and new positions enter calibrated for the current conditions. Over time, the portfolio rotates naturally without a disruptive rebalance event.

During regime transitions, the most useful thing you can monitor is your signal feed volume. A declining number of new signals over several days, combined with a regime chip change, tells you the AI is actively de-risking. If you see the regime move from green to amber, and simultaneously your signal count drops, that is the system functioning as designed — reducing exposure to a market that no longer supports high-confidence opportunities.

Resist the urge to increase activity manually during transitions. The AI is calibrated to navigate the transition gap with minimum capital at risk.
